5/4/1983 Moving the 1845 Eber Durham House from Botsford Inn to 13 Mile Road
In the early 1980's, The Botsford Inn had two historic farmhouses, a carriage house and several rows of cement block construction motel units on the West side of its property. After Botsford Hospital acquired this land, they wanted to clear it for the construction of the new clinic which is located in the Southwest corner of their property. The two houses and carriage house were given to local residents who met the selection criteria. The requirements included moving the buildings to an appropriate site within Farmington Hills, as well as maintaining the historical aspect of the buildings. These images are from digital scans of 35mm Kodachrome slides I took of the move of one of the houses.
